Service Manager - Anchorage

Craig Taylor Equipment is currently recruiting for a Service Manager for the Anchorage Headquarters location. We are looking for someone with 5-10 years of diesel technician and management experience who will be responsible for up to 10 shop employees/technicians. Primary duties are as follows:

Responsibilities
  • Work order management to include assignment, review and approval of estimates, troubleshooting, parts orders, and completion
  • Shop task organization and flow of service parts
  • Quality control of all service work
  • Management of technician efficiency and productivity
  • Technician evaluations
  • Coordination and completion of service training for all technicians
  • Service team payroll approval
  • Management of shop supplies
  • Manage shop/yard cleanliness and organization while maintaining a safe working environment
  • Direct communication with customers regarding work order updates, issues or troubleshooting
  • Work on billable jobs when necessary or as time permits
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in an equipment maintenance operation environment
  • 3+ years of management experience
  • Clean driving record
Salary Range
Salary DOE 65,000+

Shop/Yard Assistant Position - Anchorage

Craig Taylor Equipment Company is currently recruiting for a Shop/Yard Assistant and Parts Runner to support general service and sales activities at the company’s Anchorage branch location. Work is performed under the general direction of the Service Manager. A full time candidate is desired, however, individuals looking for part time employment will be considered depending on their availability and qualifications. Position will remain open until filled.

Qualifications

A Shop/Yard Assistant function is essential to the successful operation of our branches activities. He/she must have the following qualifications:

  • 18 years of age
  • Ability to pass a drug test
  • Valid Driver’s License with excellent driving record
  • Equipment and fork lift operational experience is a plus
  • Past mechanical experience is a plus but not a requirement
  • Dependable team player with a positive attitude
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Desire to support a highly dynamic, growth oriented, and fast paced company
Duties

The outline of duties is not arranged in order of priority. These duties are not meant to restrict initiative, but rather to describe minimum activities. Those duties will from time to time be altered to suit the needs of the company.

  • Basic mechanic duties such as equipment assemblies & PDIs
  • Loading and unloading trucks, trailers and shipments
  • Washing and general prep of retail sales equipment
  • Moving equipment/materials in and out of shop
  • Keeping yard, shop, and parts inventory clean and organized
  • Completing local parts runs and deliveries
  • General maintenance activities including snow removal, sanding and cleaning as needed

Physical Demands and Work Environment (Based on an 8 Hour Day)

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will spend the majority of the day on their feet. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is sometimes exposed to weather conditions.
  • Employee will be exposed to oils and general shop materials during daily activities. Company uniforms and PPE will be supplied as necessary.
Compensation
New hire will be classified as an hourly employee at $12-16 per hour depending on qualifications.
